History
PortAventura Park has five themed areas based on civilizations: Mediterrània, Polynesia, China, México and Far West. A Sesame Street area, SésamoAventura, opened for the 2011 season. Ferrari Land, which opened on 7 April 2017, is home to Red Force, a 112-metre vertical accelerator coaster that surpassed Shambhala as the tallest coaster in Europe. Beyond its three parks, PortAventura World has six hotels, a convention centre and an RV park. Dragon Khan, which opened with the park in 1995, held the world record for the most inversions, eight, when it opened. Shambhala, the 76-metre hypercoaster that Red Force surpassed, opened at PortAventura Park in 2012.
