History
It opened in 1992 as Euro Disney Resort and took the name Disneyland Paris in 1994. Disney weighed sites in Spain, including Pego in Alicante, before choosing Marne-la-Vallée, and the final contract with the French government and local authorities was signed on 24 March 1987. Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy station, between the theme parks and Disney Village, is served by the RER A line to central Paris and by TGV and Ouigo high-speed trains. Disneyland Paris is Europe's most-visited theme park. Disney took full control in 2017, buying out the remaining shareholders of Euro Disney S.C.A.
